Many of us stumbled into Jesus and discovered the one we’d been searching for all our lives, whether we knew it or not. He told us everything was going to be alright. He was a best friend who whispered that he loved us to the exact extent his father loved him. He saw everything we did yet refused to condemn us ever. He was an incredibly powerful and supernatural God who could actually change the outcome of our horror into beauty.
Then enter shame, time, failure, disappointment, and bad teaching. We learned to see him as disgusted that we haven’t shaped up by now. We now have a hard time reading the words of Jesus without feeling he’s telling us we’re not enough and we should be better, after all he’s done for us. And we pull back, not as easily daring to trust him with us, less willing to trust his plans, life and destiny for us.
What if that voice didn’t exist for us?
What if we could read his voice, hear his voice, without an artificial, religious filter?
And what if we discovered he has been caring about us, speaking to us, wooing us, entering into our daily events, from the very start, long before we took even a hint of interest in him?
On My Worst Day allows us to watch one person’s journey to re-discovering that voice of Jesus. We are allowed to imagine what Jesus might be saying to us in our best and worst, our horrid disasters and funniest moments. We will cry, laugh, and find ourselves in every story. And we will walk away changed; drenched with hope, and the best friend we found at the start.

I have read this book over and over. First, I can relate so well to many of the stories, like he read into my life. Second, the honesty, transparency, and love revealed in this book can only come from someone who has become humbled by the grace of God and trusts our God with his heart and soul. He shares with us the extent of God's undying love for us. The conversations with Jesus go straight to my heart. I am at once laughing and crying, undone by the confessions here. Like The Cure, I order this book for people who may never buy it on their own but can only benefit from reading it. My advice: Buy the book!

I felt like the author was writing my story

Never have I read a book where the author is so totally honest and emotionally naked before all those who read each word. It will make you laugh and make you cry as you associate with so much of his journey. I will never be the same after journeying through the author's life with him and seeing God's amazing grace in action. A remarkable book by a remarkable man. If I had the funds I would buy this book for everyone who crosses my path so they too could learn about themselves and an incredible God. Thank you John.

This book is a series of short stories taken from various points in the author's life, mostly long before he understood who God is, and that He loved him. Yet looking back now, he realizes God was there with him, loving him, the whole time, whether he understood that or not. I believe anyone who reads it will identify with many of the incidents, and understand more about his own relationship with God, and be attracted to Him more than ever before.

I couldn't put this book down. I smiled, laughed out loud, and had tears well up in my eyes. What an incredible journey told through the eloquent writer that is John Lynch. I have had my eyes opened and my heart filled while thoroughly enjoying these pages. I wish I had known John and had crossed his path more in my lifetime.

Oprah's got nothing on our friend John Lynch!! She may be " every woman" but John is uniquely gifted at writing whats in the heart of every person! The coolest part is that he sees pain through a colorful lens of grace and John's playfully description invites us to look through that lens too. The colorful word pictures John brilliantly paints with in his latest book, On My Worst Day found us laughing and crying as we saw ourselves in Johns story and you will too! After reading this new book, Jeff and I can see our worst days through an even more colorful hopeful lens than ever before. His lens will help you find beauty on your worst days too! If you haven't had them yet, brace yourself, they're coming.

was the day my books were delivered. I have tried to be so patient waiting for this book to be completed. And it does not disappoint. I am choosing to read it slowly, savoring it. It makes me think and pray and long for more of the Jesus that John knows and loves.

John's journey through life seeking to fill the yearning that we all carry but so often cannot name is the journey we are all on. Few can, or are willing, to tell the truth about the gaping hole inside us that can only be filled by the revelation of our true selves - the truth that we are just as God meant us to be.
John is a articulate, honest and so truly funny!
And I haven't even finished the book yet! but it won;t take me too much longer because I can't put it down! Thank you John !

After waiting almost forever, my copy finally arrived on Friday. This is a fantastic book, but I'm having a hard time reading it without getting all choked up. In his book, John Lynch opens his personal journey of faith to the reader with transparancy that is at times painful to read. John steps out a limb with this book, daring to share his soul with us. His honesty is matched by his understanding of God's deep magic - Grace. Each page reveals God's heart toward us in spite of our mistakes and outright disobedience. God's unconditional and unmerited love remains, unwaivering -- even on our worst day. (Thank you John!) My friends, make this your next "must read" book.
